Apparel Inventory/POS Software

We've worked with a lot of clothing stores and other apparel retailers since we started Dimensional in 1993. In fact, the DOS-based product we used to use was called Softwear POS.

When we switched to Windows several years ago, we needed to find a solution that would suit the needs of our many apparel clients, so we shopped around and found the perfect one. This is what has become our Vogue Retail POS/Inventory Control system.

Vogue has many features that are useful for an independent clothing store or chain, such as inventory management, CRM, marketing tools, reports and full barcoding. We will cover several of these in more detail below.

Note: If you're an apparel wholesaler or distributor, we have a system that will work for you too. We just haven't added any information about it to our website yet. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Inventory Matrix

Vogue lets you set up multiple types of products, including products with options. These products are displayed in a matrix (grid). The matrix is 4-dimensional and totally user-definable.

Here's an example. You can set up a men's pants matrix that tracks style, colour, waist size, and inseam, as well as separate pricing information for each combination.

This will let you see at a glance exactly what you have in stock and on order for each style of pants. If you have the multi-store version of Vogue, you can even see what your other stores have in stock for each style, right down to the colour, waist size and inseam.

These matrixes can make it much easier to manage your clothing store or chain.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Vogue can be set up to automatically prompt your sales people to enter the customer's information. This can include everything from basic demographic information to more personal information such as birthday, spouse's name and birthday, and anniversary. You can use this information to create targeted marketing lists.

Vogue also automatically tracks each customer's purchase history. This will let you send out very targeted advertising based on what they've bought in the past. For instance, when you get a new collection in, you can contact everybody who bought last year's equivalent.

After all, you're in the fashion business. You want to know what your customers prefer, so that you never miss a chance to keep them well dressed.

Merchandising Reports

Vogue lets you assign your inventory items to different departments, categories, sub-categories, seasons, and collections.

This takes some thought ahead of time, but once you've done it, you can run merchandising reports that will tell you which departments, categories, sub-categories, seasons, and collections are making you money and which aren't. This can really help you when you're wondering whether you should reorder something or not.

You can even do Previous Year comparisons. This will let you see how you're doing on a day-to-day basis compared to last year.

These reports are fully-customizable. So, if there's some specific information you're looking for, make sure you ask us. We can probably get it for you.

Barcoding

Barcoding makes it very easy to manage and sell your clothing. For instance, for each new inventory item, you can let Vogue create a UPC for you or you can replace Vogue's UPC with the manufacturer's. You can also assign multiple UPCs to each inventory item.

Once you've assigned a UPC, you can print barcoded tickets right from within Vogue. You can use a standard laser printer or invest in a specialized barcode printer. The choice is yours.

If you stick with a standard laser printer, you will print the tickets on 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheets of labels. Vogue is smart enough not to waste labels, so you will save a lot of money.

After you've printed out the tickets, you can stick them on your inventory items. Then, when it comes time to sell something, you just scan the items you want to sell with a barcode scanner.
